Four events were held at the ETH HK Hub in the past two months including the successful Grand Opening Meetup attracting thousands of partcipants in April. Two meetups, one workshop and one community gathering were hosted at ETH HK Hub. Ethereum ecosystem continued to prosper with significant progress on tech stack upgrade and applications.

We launched our official media channel including the Website to accept residency applications from the Community and the Telegram channel to update the community. Join us!

April 21, 2026, Grand Opening of ETH HK Hub

Hong Kong Ethereum Community Hub officially launched on April 21, 2026, marking a historic milestone as Asia’s first long-term, sustainable offline space for the Ethereum community. Hub solidifies Hong Kong’s role as a global epicenter for digital asset innovation.

The Grand Opening attracted over 1,500 registrants and featured a high-profile lineup of speakers, including: Vitalik Buterin (Co-founder, Ethereum) & Aya Miyaguchi (President, Ethereum Foundation). Duncan Chiu (HK Legislative Council Member) & Peter Yan (Director General, OASES). Industry leaders from SNZ, Sharplink, HashKey Group, Animoca Brands, EVG etc.

This event was joined by 16 CEOs/Founders and 10 SVPs sharing insights, making it a flagship highlight of the Hong Kong Web3 Festival. Spark, Lido, Galaxy Digital, and Zand Bank were appreciated to have support as co-sponsors for the meetup.

Hong Kong Ethereum Community Hub Welcomes Initial Cohort: 30+ Ecosystem Projects and Institutions In-Residence

The Hub has successfully onboarded its first wave of residents, featuring over 30 pioneering projects, institutions, and enterprises from the Ethereum ecosystem. This inaugural cohort spans a diverse range of critical sectors, including Infrastructure, DeFi, Institutional Services, and Emerging Applications.

The physical residency has already fostered a multi-dimensional, collaborative network, creating a high-density ecosystem where builders and industry leaders can drive cross-sector synergy. By providing a permanent home for these global entities, the Hub is accelerating the development of a robust, offline blockchain network in Hong Kong.

Meetup: Ethereum Day Spotlights AI, RWA, and DeFi Convergence on March 11, 2026

Co-hosted by SNZ and ETHTAO with support from Spark, the Ethereum Day gathering successfully concluded at the Ethereum Hong Kong Hub. The event united global builders to explore the integration of AI, RWA, and DeFi within the ecosystem.

Featuring experts from the Ethereum Foundation, Alias, Hubble AI, Spark, Unified Labs, and Asseto, the sessions delivered professional insights into four critical areas:Institutional Advantages: Leveraging Ethereum for enterprise-grade solutions.AI Infrastructure: Deploying AI-driven trading and decentralized tools.DeFi Expansion: Scaling the decentralized finance ecosystem.TradFi Connectivity: Bridging traditional finance with on-chain RWA. The Ethereum ecosystem continues to ship at a rapid pace, ranging from privacy breakthroughs to institutional integration. Here is a summary of the most significant deliveries over the past few weeks:

Infrastructure & Interoperability

  • Unified Ecosystem: Gnosis introduced the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ) to improve L1/L2 composability.
  • Speed Upgrade: The Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) was introduced, reducing L1-to-L2 deposit times to just 13 seconds.
  • Strategic Vision: The EF released the EF Mandate, reaffirming the promise of Ethereum and the Foundation's role within it.

Privacy & Security

  • Privacy Stacks: Aztec Network Alpha went live, and Scroll enabled private transfers. Hinkal Pay and Peer Verify (ZK-based) further advanced confidential payments and identity.
  • Wallet Evolution: The Social Recovery SDK launched to replace seed phrases with guardian-based recovery. Safe released Safenet (beta) for pre-execution security.
  • Quantum Readiness: Starknet launched post-quantum wallets, and the EF launched pq.ethereum.org to lead research in quantum resistance.

Institutional & DeFi Growth

  • Stablecoin Milestone: Supply hit a new ATH of $180B+ (60% global market share).
  • Mainstream Integration: ENS integrated with PayPal for cross-border payments, while ZKsync partnered with five regional banks to launch The Cari Network for tokenized deposits.
  • Lending Upgrades: Aave V4 (hub-and-spoke architecture), Silo V3, and Morpho Agents (AI-integrated lending) all launched to strengthen DeFi liquidity and safety.

AI & Onchain Apps

  • Standards & Privacy: Coinbase moved its x402 AI-payment protocol to the Linux Foundation, while Venice shipped verifiable end-to-end encrypted AI.
  • Builder Momentum: Base introduced its 3rd cohort of OnchainApps, and the ecosystem celebrated milestones at EthCC and the 300th ETHGlobal event.


Supported by ETH HK Hub, the Blockchain Technology Research Centre (RCBT) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in collaboration with Monash University’s FinTech Lab & AI Institute, is hosting an industry-focused Masterclass. This joint initiative addresses the critical role of AI in strengthening Risk Management, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and regulatory compliance as digital assets enter the mainstream.
